Cass and Cognitive Function go Substack.
ADHD, Anxiety, Grief, Happiness, Plant Medicine, Humanism, Growth and my constant quest for Self-Knowledge have entered the chat.
I’ve contemplated the headache of social media for years now. It’s like the annoying loud neighbor, the screaming baby on the airplane, or when you have to pee and you need a code for the bathroom at the coffee shop. Deeply aggravating but, apart of being out in our world today. From my POV, Social Media is the beast that constantly needs to be fed. You spend all your time trying to play by her rules and learn how to nurture her and when you finally think you’ve figured her out, she inevitably has you in a choke hold and ends up eating you for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As much as I love being a tasty snack, I am looking for more balance in my life. I am looking for a way to connect with my community but still have my boundaries around my sanity… anyone else? It feels like a tall order in this age.
Enter Substack. Hmm, this feels good. It feels spacious, open range, with sprawled out tall wise oaks (in the form of my favorite writer Tara from Slowdown Farmstead).
It feels like a space for self guided findings, a space where you aren’t immediately attacked with the abrasive reel on “The 3 best ways to get spiders out of your house”. A space where not everyone is an expert in some made up field that I admittedly question purchasing a $299 masterclass in.
Here you can expect me. The real me, without appeasing to daddy Zucks algorithm. Honestly, I think it might be one of the more selfish things I’ve done. Taking time to journal through my thoughts, sift through my brain, write down my favorite and least favorite parts of this human experience and of course all the things that bring me joy and purpose (que my intro).
Join me here for verge conversations, for ways that I have found myself through my life experiences, my on-going quest for understanding my brain and body, the food system, big phrama, plant medicine, homesteadings, my great love & soon soon to be husband, my yearning for community and deep intentional relationship, old world wisdom, communication, Chinese medicine, nutrition, my relationship to grief and most simply, taking what I have learned and putting it in one place for others to hopefully find support.
I will be posting about Cognitive Function and Myceliate. I will be sharing our events/ greater community events, I will share recipes and product updates, I will share my herbal protocols and how to work with different herbs and mushrooms, I will give in-depth support around gut + brain health and I will share PDF’s, podcasts/ audio recordings on answers to your questions, I will give my honest feedback on products and shed knowledge on how to grow your own business and step into your SUPERPOWERS, we will talk about intuition and the occult and everything between.
Some housekeeping so we can soothe my Capricorn placements:
This level of intimacy with strangers is scary to me. I am sharing in an effort to find clarity in my own mind but to also help and inspire those who find meaning in it. Please be gentle and remember I am a real human with real feelings. Your opinion is your own, we don’t have to agree to find respect for each others perspectives, experiences and humanism.
